The Renaissance Society presents a free concert Sunday, January 23rd, 8pm, from violinist Tony Conrad in conjunction with Gerard Byrne’s “A thing is a hole in a thing it is not” currently on view at The Renaissance Society.

Conrad’s various activities (music, filmmaking, visual arts) and associations (Jack Smith, Dream Syndicate) make his status as “legend” and “treasure” well warranted. A key figure in the development of Minimalist music and Structuralist film, Conrad’s electrified and electrifying performances are wholly vital and without compromise. Delicate yet volatile, his spike and drone concoctions are some part fierce to some part sublime.

This concert will take place in the gallery and is FREE and open to the public.
